Quick replacement
We typically replace your old unit or heat exchanger in a single workday.
Replacement of an old district heating unit / heat exchanger
Do you have an older district heating unit that’s noisy, leaks, or doesn’t use the heat efficiently? A new, modern district heating unit takes up less space, uses less electricity, and utilizes the district heating water much more efficiently.
When should it be replaced?
If your system is more than 15–20 years old, or if you’re having trouble getting sufficiently hot domestic hot water.
Conversion and Reconnection to District Heating
Is district heating being rolled out in your area, or would you like to switch from a gas or oil furnace to district heating? We’ll handle the entire project: removing the old furnace, installing the new unit, and connecting it to the distribution line.
Comprehensive solution: We coordinate the work so that you experience as little disruption to your daily routine as possible.
Service, Configuration, and Optimization
Although district heating requires minimal maintenance, the system must be properly adjusted to operate efficiently. If the water is returned to the heating plant at too high a temperature, you risk having to pay an additional fee (return fee).
We'll inspect your valves, thermostats, and heat exchangers to ensure that the system cools the water optimally.
FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions About District Heating
Replacing an existing district heating unit in a single-family home typically costs between 20,000 and 40,000 DKK, including tax, the new unit, and installation. If it’s just a domestic hot water unit, it’s naturally somewhat cheaper. The exact price depends on whether you need a unit with direct or indirect district heating (heat exchanger).
The return temperature is the temperature of the cooled water that is sent back to the district heating plant. If your system isn’t utilizing the heat efficiently enough, the return flow is too hot. Many heating plants charge a penalty fee if your cooling is inadequate—an adjustment or a new heat exchanger can quickly pay for itself in this case.
The replacement itself usually takes 4–8 hours. This means that we’ll disconnect the old system in the morning, and you’ll have heat and hot water again by late afternoon.
A modern district heating unit has an expected service life of 15 to 20 years. Regular inspections of gaskets and control systems extend the service life and ensure stable operation.
